Prof. Dr. Jianhui Dai is a doctoral supervisor of School of Physical Education, Soochow University. Currently, Prof. Dai serves as an expert in the communication review of the National Social Science Fund Planning Project, a member of the Academic Committee of Soochow University, and an expert of the Suzhou Social Sports Instructor Lecturer Group. In addition, she serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Foundation for Global Community Health, a director of the BRICS Council for Exercise and Sport Science, a director of the Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science, as a member of the Sports Social Science Branch of the Chinese Sports Science Society, and a member of the International Society of Sports Association and the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport.


Localizing the SDGs and WSCC into the GCH Model School Network in China

Education is the most promising and effective way for humanity to pursue sustainable development. In partnership with the Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH), Mudu Experimental Primary School and Soochow University, we will demonstrate the importance of using The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and The Centers for Disease Control’s Whole School-Whole-Community-Whole Child (WSCC) well-being models to empower and inspire students to be members of a healthy community.  Our goals adhere to the principle of "ensuring that every child can enjoy fair and high-quality education". Through continuous learning, joint interaction, and the use of various platforms, teachers can access, collect, create, and share best practices in the China National School Curriculum to enhance social and emotional education. These models will serve as guidelines to design more scientific and diversified courses for students which point to a healthy school environment and after-school services. Connecting well-being education with our current resources incorporate multiple courses including calligraphy, weiqi, basketball, programming, guzheng, science and intangible cultural heritage inheritance practice activities. This multi-faceted approach inspires students to flourish socially by optimizing the campus environment, enhancing their awareness of sustainable development, broadening their horizons, increasing knowledge application, guiding practical innovation as well as environmental awareness to strengthen the cooperation between society and school. For physical education, we try to keep a healthy diet and increase physical activity. By promoting  the first GCH Model School in China under the guidance of nearly 100 GCH scientific advisers and with the assistance from the research team of Soochow University and other global organizations, we will contribute to the GCH Model School Network by enhancing the multi-disciplined, well-being education for students to promote a better planet.
