Director Xiao Dong Li received his bachelor’s degree in physical education at Henan University and got his Master degree at Beijing Sport University. During his postgraduate period, he participated in a national project on children's physical health and found that performance, social interaction and other aspects have been significantly improved after physical training. Since then, Director Li has collaborated with the physical education industry in providing quality physical education after school programs. In the spring of 2014, with his leadership, the "BEST TEAM (Beijing) Sports Industry Development Co., Ltd." was established. Its brands include: Industry and Research Center, JOYKIDS, JOYSTAR, JOYMALL etc. JOYKIDS operated in the comprehensive sports hall and most of them located in shopping malls, and other community. JOYSTAR was established for improving basketball skills. The company currently has more than 1,500 employees covering 29 provinces across the country, with more than 600,000 online students and more than 100,000 offline members.
Best Team: Developing Active Healthy Children through After-School Physical Education and Sports – A Successful Industry Case in China
This presentation will demonstrate how Best Team in cooperation and support of Beijing Sport University and athletes in China are working together to ensure the quality of after school programs adhering to scientific, high-quality, and international requirements in school sport programs. Since the establishment of BEST TEAM, the company has completed 3 upgrades of venues and 7 innovations in curriculum design during the past nine years. The company has invited a number of world class gymnasts to collaborate on after school gymnastics programs.Between 2017-2019, BEST TEAM reached a strategic cooperation with Huayi Sports, and joined the retired athlete protection plan of the National Sports Bureau. In recent years, BEST TEAM achievements in youth physical education have been affirmed and praised by the industry and government. Best Team after school programs have demonstrated a continuous and close cooperation within the fields of children's physical education courses, children's physical fitness level assessment, and youth physical fitness development ensuring best practices. In addition, they actively carry out international exchanges and have established cooperation with Croatia in the development of physical fitness, basketball and other projects. For future direction, Best Team is determined to expand internationally to promote health and wellness of children and community through innovative and creative after school programs and to become a key partner of the GCH Model School Project.
